Khan Academy on a Stick

I put this website together for offline usage. It seemed to me that Khan Academy was most needed by people who didn't have access to the internet, so I started downloading and re-compressing the videos. Then I found that someone else had, put together a nice browsable index and I picked it up from there. It's included as part of the RACHEL project. It's also available for download in multiple languages from the development site. Feedback is welcome!

Zappos.com

This is the place that completely changed my world. I worked at Zappos from 2000 to 2007 and it is still the most successful thing I've ever been part of, as well as one of the most exciting.

The site has been redesigned since my departure, and is stewarded by an amazing team of new blood. However I have heard through the grapevine that most of the system - the internal software used by Zappos employees to provide their famous customer service - is still the stuff built by the incredible team of people I was very lucky to have led.

One Hot Pair

Soon after leaving Zappos I put together this website which is basically HOT or NOT for shoes. It was something I wanted to do while at Zappos but could never find the time. So I threw it together afterwards and it chugs along. I have a list of adjustments I want to make to improve it dramatically, but prioritizing it is tough. So many things to do and so little time! Even with all the time in the world.

Sophia Field Photography

I didn't design the look of this site; my former wife and great friend Sophia Field did. I just coded up the CSS version and wrote the simple CMS that makes it work.

I've also helped on marketing and SEO for the site. That's an artform I lack a natural interest in, but I recognize the importance of more and more. Black magic it is.

Tim's Furniture Fix

Here's a website I put together for a friend's business. Simple as it is, I'm very happy with the look, feel, and structure.

I got the search ranking good enough that organic traffic provides nearly all his work now.
